Aisha Dabo
Aisha, a journalist and activist, is a prominent figure in civil society across the African continent. She is a highly skilled media and communications professional, who possesses fluency in French, English, Wolof and Lingala. She is a firm believer in participatory democracy, transparency, freedom of expression and opinion, freedom of the press, and access to information. Aisha is a co-founder and coordinator of AfricTivistes, a Pan-African organisation that unites change agents and makers to advance democratic values, human rights, and good governance on the continent through the use of digital tools and technologies. AfricTivistes boasts a membership of 400 individuals from 40 African countries and Haiti. Aisha spearheads the implementation of various projects, primarily focusing on civic tech initiatives. The programmes are designed to empower women and youth, enhance citizen engagement, foster leadership, promote democratic governance, ensure cybersecurity, combat fake news and harmful online messages, and undertake other related activities.
