Bilal Randeree is Chief Program Officer at the Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF), where he leads global programs that strengthen the sustainability and resilience of independent media in challenging environments. He brings over two decades of experience across finance, media, and management, with a deep focus on media viability and strategic support.
Prior to his current role, he served as MDIF’s Managing Director of Media Programs and previously as Program Director for Africa and MENA, driving impactful initiatives across diverse markets. Before joining MDIF in 2017, Bilal’s career spanned roles at KPMG and Al Jazeera, as well as the successful scaling of a digital media startup, giving him a unique perspective on both legacy institutions and digital innovation.
Bilal is a Chartered Accountant (CPA equivalent) and holds a postgraduate diploma in Journalism and Media Studies.
