César Vega

César is a Guatemalan sociologist with graduate studies in research with vulnerable populations. He worked at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala as a researcher on health issues and cultural practices and at Global Visionaries where he led processes of research and recovery of historical memory with communities in the central region of Guatemala. Currently, he is an Interim Professor at the Political Science Faculty of the Universidad Rafael Landívar and, since 2018 he has been working at Acción Ciudadana, the Guatemalan chapter of Transparency International where he has been responsible for the designing and implementation of strategies for promoting transparency and accountability mechanisms within public institutions; he is responsible for the development of training programs oriented to strengthening civil society organizations, municipal governments, and journalists.
