Cagil Kasapoglu

Cagil Kasapoglu is currently a senior journalist for the BBC World Service’s Global Digital and Formats team, producing and curating content for digital platforms with a particular focus on explainer videos. She was formerly a reporter and producer for BBC Turkish, covering and investigating a wide range of subjects including refugee crisis, corruption networks and political Islam. Before joining the BBC, Cagil worked as a freelance journalist based in Beirut, Lebanon writing about Turkey’s role in the Middle East, the Arab Spring in Tunisa and regional security. She has been awarded for her coverage of the Kurdish uprisings.
