Hasibur Rahman

Hasibur Rahman, the executive director, leads MRDI with a deep understanding of Bangladeshi news media, in developing a strong and independent media that exercises excellence in journalism, through research, training and production-based practical learning. At present he is working to prepare newsrooms to regulate themselves that will eventually contribute to the free and diverse media environment in the country. Not being a journalist by profession, Hasibur is well known in the media arena for his firm commitment to promoting quality journalism. Under his leadership, MRDI has become the leading news media development organization of Bangladesh with a particular focus on investigative journalism. With his proactive role in creating demand for and facilitating supply of information he has placed MRDI to a leading position in promotion of RTI.
