Irene Caselli

Irene Caselli is an Italian writer and multimedia journalist who focuses on early childhood, caregivers, and reproductive rights. She leads the Early Childhood Journalism Initiative at the Global Center for Journalism and Trauma. In 2019, she launched an early childhood beat for The Correspondent and turned that reporting into the The First 1,000 Days newsletter. Previously, as a foreign correspondent in Latin America, she worked for the BBC, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and The Guardian. She is examining media coverage of young children and ways to increase and improve coverage of the issues affecting them. She is currently a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, examining media coverage of young children.
