José María Irujo, graduate in Information Science from the University of Navarre. He has worked for Diario de Navarra, El Globo, Cambio 16 and Diario 16. Since 1997, he has been editor-in-chief of El País newspaper. He is the author of the books ETA, la derrota de las armas (Actualidad y Libros, 1993), Roldán, un botín a la sombra del tricornio (Temas de Hoy, 1995), Comisión ilegal: negocios y sobornos al amparo del estado (Temas de Hoy, 1996), La lista negra. Los espías nazis protegidos por Franco y la Iglesia (Aguilar, 2003) and El Agujero. España invadida por la yihad (Aguilar, 2005), the latter on the terrorist attack of 11-M, considered by Foreign Policy magazine as the best journalistic piece on the subject. He has been awarded numerous prizes for his research and is a speaker at various forums, institutions and universities in Europe and North America as an expert on international terrorism.
