Lina Attalah

An Egyptian journalist, Ms. Attalah is the Co-Founder of Mada Masr - an independent online media outlet based in Egypt. Previously, she served as Chief Editor of the Egypt Independent. Ms. Attalah has extensively covered events in her home country and the region, including the 2011 Egyptian and Syrian revolutions, the 2013 Iranian presidential elections, the Darfur conflict in Sudan, and the wars in Gaza. For her work, she was awarded the Chevalier (Knight) Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2022, and was recognized as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2020.
