Robb Montgomery

Robb Montgomery is an American mobile journalism trainer, filmmaker and author based in Berlin. He is the author of Smartphone Video Storytelling and Mobile Journalism textbooks and and serves as chair of the Mobile Journalism Awards. Montgomery leads training programs in mobile video reporting and documentary filmmaking in more than 34 countries, most recently in Odessa, Ukraine. With the Smart Film School, he trains journalists for Reuters, WAN-IFRA, IREX, InterNews, United Nations, U.S. State Department, Journalism Co UK, Mediacorp, SRMG, Radio Free Europe, Journalism Co UK, Middle East Broadcast Network, GIJN, and the International Journalism Festival. He developed the first mobile journalism training program for Radio Free Europe TV in 2011. He is a distinguished visiting professor at Singapore University and has led courses in visual journalism at Northwestern University, Stockholm University, University of London, Danish School of Journalism, and Ohio University.
