Rozina Breen
The Bureau of Investigative JournalismCEO and Editor-in-Chief
My name is RozIna Breen, I’m the CEO and Editor in Chief of The Bureau of Investigative Journalism.
Based in the UK, TBIJ’s journalism spans local to global across topics including corruption, climate, democracy and misinformation, plus environment more widely [food, climate finance, AMR and the Amazon], plus global health, big tech and community investigations.
My background is senior leadership at the BBC across where I developed new ways of reaching audiences for local, including launching an award-winning hyperlocal, running thr BBC’s largest network newsroom outside of London and launching a digital service for the BBC World Service.
I believe in the value of public service and accountability journalism. I’m interested in new ways of telling the story, innovate approaches to producing investigations, representation in newsrooms and among our audiences and also strong cross border and cross team collaborations
I’m a strong believer in community journalism and also what we can offer in a rapidly changing world
My focus is also on revenue diversification which feels an urgent discussion point for the non profit newsroom sector. And also on leadership resilience, adaptability and diversity.
